Security work in Avondale

Avondale's older blocks, roughly along the original town streets west of the I-10, are small houses and local businesses that have been remodeled in pieces. Newer subdivisions farther out have block-wall yards and builder low-voltage panels. Phoenix Raceway brings event traffic and a cluster of commercial parcels that are busy on race weekends and quiet in between. A camera layout for a house on a cul-de-sac is not the layout for a shop that has to see its lot when the freeway frontage is packed.

House calls here usually start with a package that only shows the front door. The missing views are the alley or the side gate, the sliding door to the yard, and the place the cars actually park, which is not always the driveway the doorbell faces. We add those and we check the panel in the laundry room. If the builder left a router in a cabinet with no ventilation, the cameras will crash on summer afternoons even when the lenses are fine. Moving the recorder into open air in a closet is part of the job.

Retail and service businesses near the freeway and the raceway need coverage of the customer door, the storage room, and the vehicles left overnight. We schedule the interior work outside of open hours when we can. Exterior cameras go on the fascia, not on a pole in the parking row, unless the lot is too deep for an eave mount to see the back stalls. Those are the sites where we also look at whether the network is a single router under the counter. It usually is, and the cameras should not share it with the register.
