Security work in Paradise Valley

The Town of Paradise Valley is estate lots, resort edges, and long drives off Lincoln, Tatum, and the streets around Camelback and Mummy Mountain. There is no commercial strip to design for. The work is houses with guest casitas, a front gate or a private drive, and an owner who does not want a camera looking at the neighbor or at the street for no reason. Privacy is the design constraint. A ring of obvious bullets around the parapet is the wrong look and often the wrong aim.

We start with the approaches: the drive gate, the front door, the casita entrance, and any lower-level door on a sloped lot. Interior cameras are uncommon here unless you ask for a specific room, and we will not scatter them through a house by default. Alarm contacts go on the doors a person can actually open from outside, including the casita and the yard gates that bypass the front door. A single motion in the great room does not cover a guest house fifty yards away.

Cable paths on these lots are the part that takes time. Walls are thick, attics are complicated, and a casita may not share a trench with the main house. We find the path before we order a box of cameras. An intercom at the drive gate is often more useful than a fifth exterior dome, because the decision being made is whether to open the gate. Outdoor housings still have to handle full sun on a south wall. We do not mount a screen where it will be unreadable at 2 p.m. in June.
